The publications Brain Matters Institute and IANOS invite you to the presentation of the book by the clinical psychologist-psychotherapist, Alexandras Pentarakis, PhD, "Breaking the Bonds of Female Depression". The event will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the IANOS bookstore (Aristotelous 7, Thessaloniki, Tel: 2310277004).

Alexandra Pentaraki will read excerpts from the book Breaking the Bonds of Female Depression, published by the Brain Matters Institute, and will answer questions put to her by journalist Giorgos Katsianis.

The book will be discussed by:

Michalis Arkoudas, Economist-t. Governor of Kilkis Hospital,

Irini Kontopidou, Clinical Dietitian, MSc.

The presentation will be moderated by journalist Giorgos Katsianis.

In this in-depth edition, the author analyzes the causes of female depression and gives valuable, practical advice that every woman can use to activate her inner strengths to cope with depression and anxiety and toshe finds her enthusiasm, her functionality and her zest for life.

A notable feature of the book is that it examines and advises on mental difficulties associated with depression such as anxiety and panic attacks, work stress, anorexia and bulimia, reduced sexuality, memory and concentration difficulties. The book presents for the first time for the Greek data, a holistic approach that includes cognitive therapy and the development of the body-soul relationship through the Mindfulness approach which helps the person to get in touch with his body and soul in here and now (the book also comes with an optional CD).

The book is prefaced by the assistant professor of psychiatry at AUTH, Konstantinos Foundoulakis.
