Beach-volley favors muscle development in a harmonious way, since it tightens the legs, back, chest and abdomen.

  • The leg muscles are worked out more, and more specifically the quadriceps, calves and glutes, which contract with each jump.
  • During receiving, passing and dribbling, the muscles of the arms (biceps and triceps) and shoulders are called upon to respond.
  • Finally, the dorsal and abdominal muscles are also trained, which serve to maintain the correct balance of the athlete on the field, especially after a jump. These are the muscles that protect the spine from possible accidents.

What equipment do I need?

Beach volleyball is one of the easiest sports in terms of equipment. You need a ball, net and lines. You don't need anything more than the beach one. A sports swimsuit, a hat and sunglasses that will protect you from the sun. If the weather is not warm, wear a thermal leggings and a top. You need a ball, nets and lines are essential!

What are the ground rules?

Specific rules exist in official tournaments, such as playing with 2 people of the same gender, on an 8x8 court and with a specific net height for men and women. However, amateur tournaments are also organized with looser regulations, more players or of a different gender, etc. The purpose of the game on a professional level is of course to win, but on an amateur level it is to enjoy the game with your friends, simultaneously exercising your body and developing skills. What is the appropriate age?

Beach volleyball is for all ages. From the age of 9 children can have their first contact with the ball and the sand, and there is no upper limit. If our physical condition allows it, we can play at any age.

When should I avoid it?

People who should avoid the sport are those who are sensitive to sun exposure.

What should I watch out for?
You need to be very careful in the sun, controlled exposure, protection with sunscreen and a hat and very good hydration because the risk of dehydration and sunburn is particularly high.
