Cycling tour in Thessaloniki for the World Cystic Fibrosis Day

The Panhellenic Cystic Fibrosis Association "Hellenic Society for Fibrous Cystic Disease" (H.E.I.K.) is holding a cycling tour tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8, 2015, as part of information and awareness for World Cystic Fibrosis Day.

The action is carried out in collaboration with the Association of Parents and Guardians of Northern Greece of Children Suffering from Fibrous Cystic Disease, in Athens and Thessaloniki respectively.

With a motto "every breath we take, one step closer to our dreams" the Association again this year invites you to join it in its effort to inform and raise awareness about Cystic Fibrosis.

The most common hereditary disease in the white race, which is estimated to exist in our country 500,000 carriers and one or two children are born a week due to lack of information. More about the disease on the website: www.cysticfibrosis.gr.

The Association invites you to join us at Syntagma Square (Athens) / HANTH (Thessaloniki) at 17.00, get the "each breath" t-shirt at the start, where together with your bike and a balloon they will start from the square, doing a lap through the city center, carrying our hopeful message.

Finally, at the termination, for the first time, the following will take place: every year some of our patients are lost. For each patient who is lost, instead of wreaths, balloons with their name will be dedicated. Ending at Syntagma Square and the White Tower they will release these balloons into the sky in a symbolic gesture!

In Athens: it will start at 17:00 starting from Syntagma Square where the finish will also take place. The route to be followed is Syntagma Square, Othonos, left Vas. Amalias Ave., Panepistumi, Ag. Konstantinou, left Sokratous, left Pan. Tsaldari, Stadiou, Filellinon, Syntagma Square.

In Thessaloniki: it will start at 5:00 p.m., starting from XANTH Square and ending at Lefko Pyrgos. The route to be followed is, XANTH Square, Tsimiski Street, left Salaminos Street, left Navaarchou Kountouriotou Street, straight Nikis Avenue, Lefkos Pyrgos.
