Information from EFET for product recall from the companies "JUMBO SA" and Carrefour

EFET was informed through the Early Warning System for Food and Feed (RASFF) about the circulation of a product, "Bucket with holes", in which the migration of primary aromatic amines was found, in a quantity exceeding the legal limits for its use in contact with food.

This is the product with the trade name "Bosfor HOUSEWARE", originating in Turkey, with lot number Lot: 28062014 and barcode number 8693395006331. Also, the code BSF633 is written on the package.

In addition, the Attica Regional Directorate of EFET, as part of investigating a complaint, carried out an inspection of a children's plastic bowl, which was found, through laboratory tests by the State General Chemistry, to not meet the conditions for its intended use, with safety implications of the food, because during the migration test in food simulators detachments of the plastic decorative coating were observed both on the inside (bottom) and on the rim of the bowl.

Specifically, it is about the children's bowl, with the trade name "Plastic jungle bowl" and lot number Lot NO:RA 1401 - 04.

The above mentioned products were distributed by the Greek company "JUMBO SA" (Kyprou 9 & Hydras, Moschato).

EFET demanded from the company in question the immediate revocation / withdrawal of said products and the relevant checks are already underway.

Also, EFET, in the context of national and EU legislation, was informed by the company "MARINOPOULOS S.A." regarding the recall of the product "Shredded Coconut" in the raw material of which the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella was detected spp.

This is the product with the trade name "Grated Coconut CRF", of Indian origin, in a 200g package, with batch numbers L151209 and L151212, manufactured on behalf of the company "MARINOPOULOS S.A." (Ag. Dimitriou 63, Alimos), while the inspections by EFET are ongoing.
